We get a lot of questions when it comes to our location. Costa Rica is a remote destination but surprisingly enough, it isn’t really that far away.
Typically if you are coming from the United States you would book your plane tickets from your nearest International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO is the airport code). For the past 4 years in a row I have found the best fares on Orbitz.
Then you will take a “puddle jumper” flight from San Jose to Tambor. We always fly Sansa Airlines because the departing airport is right next door to SJO and very convenient. It is about a 30 minute flight on a small plane that usually holds about 12 people. It is a gorgeous way to see Costa Rica from the air. The offer several flights everyday.
You can also use this website to link you and have a rental car meet you at the Tambor airport. There they will provide you with a map and it is about a 20 minute drive. If you are staying at Casa Pez Volador and have already secured your reservation, we will provide you with directions to the home at that time.
